How to List Your Minecraft Server for Free

Five steps for listing a Minecraft server on minecraftservers.blog, from creating an account to getting votes, plus the details to have ready.

Listing a Minecraft server on minecraftservers.blog is free and takes a few minutes. New listings are reviewed within 24 hours.

What to have ready

Gather these before you open the form, since a few of them have hard limits.

  • A server name, up to 25 characters.
  • A short description, up to 150 characters. This is the line that shows up in listings.
  • A longer description, up to 2,000 characters, if you want to explain gameplay and community. It's optional.
  • Your Java address and port. Bedrock address and port if you support Bedrock.
  • The Minecraft versions you support, up to three. If you enter a Java address, picking at least one version is required.
  • One to five tags that describe the server.
  • A banner image as a GIF, PNG or JPEG up to 10 MB. Optional.
  • Links to your website, Discord, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or X. All optional.

Make an account

Go to the registration page and sign up. We email a 6-digit verification code, and you enter it to finish creating the account. If the email doesn't turn up, check spam first, then use the resend option on the verification page.

Add your server

  1. Log in and open your dashboard.
  2. Click Add Server.
  3. Fill in the Server Details, Connection Info and Compatibility sections.
  4. Submit the form.

You can come back and edit a listing from the dashboard whenever something changes.

Write a description people can use

The short description is the one line a stranger reads before deciding whether to click, so spend your time there. The form's own example is "Survival SMP with shops and economy". It's a decent model. It says what the server is and what you do on it, in a few words.

Say what's different. Lots of servers describe themselves as friendly, active and fun, and none of that helps someone choose. A named feature does: a custom economy, a particular modpack, a seasonal map reset, a rule about griefing. Put the longer story in the long description, where people who clicked through will read it.

Pick tags and versions with care

Tags put your server on the matching type page, so someone browsing survival or skyblock can find you. Choose the ones that describe what players actually do. Padding with popular tags that don't fit sends the wrong players your way.

Versions work the same way. List only what you really support, up to three. If your server runs a current Paper build and also accepts older clients through ViaVersion, list the versions you've tested.

Turn on Votifier

Ranking is based on votes and sponsorships, so voting matters. Each player can vote once every 24 hours per server. The Vote button only appears on a listing once Votifier details have been added. Without it, your page has no way to take a vote.

Setting it up takes two plugins and a few form fields, and we've written both parts up. How to set up Votifier covers the connection, and vote rewards covers what players get, which is what gives them a reason to come back every day. Voting from a VPN may be flagged, so don't tell your community to vote that way.

After you submit

A new listing is reviewed within 24 hours. Servers are monitored after that, and inactive or spam listings that break the Terms of Service get filtered out, so keep the server online and the details accurate.

Basic listings are free. If you want more visibility, featured placement is available as a paid option, and you can find it in your dashboard.

Put your link where your players are

Once your listing is approved, copy its address from your browser. It looks like minecraftservers.blog/server/your-server-slug. Add /vote to the end and you have your vote page. Then put that link where your players already look.

  • Your vote command. In VotingPlugin the link goes in the VoteURL setting of your minecraftservers.blog entry. In TDX VotePlus it goes in vote-sites.yml. Either way, players who type /vote get a link they can click. The vote rewards guide shows where each setting lives.
  • Your Discord server. Pin the link in an announcements or vote channel and mention it in your welcome message. Add your Discord invite to your listing as well, so people can find you from either side.

Players who already know your server are the ones most likely to vote, and votes count toward your ranking. A direct link saves them from searching for you.

Quick checklist

Before you submit, check that the address works from outside your network, the versions are right, the tags fit, and the short description would make sense to someone who has never heard of your server. If you've added Votifier, press Test Votifier Connection and confirm the vote shows up in your console. After approval, put your link in your /vote command and pin it in Discord.
